If you have been sexually assaulted...

More Than 72 Hours After

If it has been greater than 72 hours following a sexual assault, you still have options! Did you know that there is no statute of limitations on rape in the state of Alabama? Although it may not be necessary for you to receive a sexual assault kit collection after 72 hours, you can still make a report to law enforcement and be seen if appropriate by a forensic nurse. The Tuscaloosa SAFE Center can help you learn more about your reporting options, and organize for law enforcement to come to us, where you can make a report at the SAFE Center.

We can also connect you to our sexual assault trauma therapist. She sees clients individually and runs a support group for survivors of sexual assault on Wednesdays from 5-6pm.
